Our History
Being locally owned and operated ensures that we strive towards the best for our communities, our friends and our neighbors. We invest in the growth of our communities by providing superior healthcare services and employment opportunities for current and future generations. For over 100 years, there has been a pharmacy open on the corner of Ashmun and Spruce Streets, beginning with Maltas Drug Stores in March 1909. Today it is the home of our corporate headquarters, art gallery, gift shop, medical supply and equipment, and of course your hometown pharmacy.

We have grown from a small pharmacy to a multi-store chain in the Eastern Upper Peninsula with two locations in Sault Ste. Marie and one location in Cedarville. I’m a Sault Ste. Marie local, graduating from Sault High in 2018. I joined the Arfstrom Pharmacy team in 2017 and went on to earn my Business Administration degree from Lake Superior State University in 2022. I’m a licensed Pharmacy Technician and currently serve in the United States Coast Guard Reserves.
